Garcia attended Texas Christain University to study for a few years following she finished high school. She then transferred to the University of Texas. Her arrival to the University provided her with a competitive platform thereby making her skills stronger as the years passed by. In spite of the fact that she experienced joy and fulfilment as a golfer Angela Akin Garcia never dreamt of playing professionally, instead she was drawn to journalism. She landed her first job following her graduation as a Fox Sports Southwest Reporter.
